Nephthys' Guardians of the Duat

The Guardians of the Duat fall are spirits who serve and fall under Nephthys’ power. They are beings of a darker energy who serve as protectors, guides, and companions, appearing anthropomorphic with the heads of animals and the bodies of humans. They can appear entirely human or animal, but hybrid form is their most frequent one. Often stoic and stalwart, they have a sacred duty to ensure the dead are not unjustly disturbed and likewise do not unjustly disturb the living. They take this duty very seriously, bringing peace and order wherever they roam. I must be clear that they will not disturb companions, your spirit family, or even benevolent unbounds who may seek companionship. Their focus tends to be on the slumbering dead being awoken and on hungry spirits seeking to feed and prey on the living. Because of these capabilities, they are excellent at protection when it comes to unbounds, parasites, and malignant, devious forces.

Each Guardian is uniquely skilled to fulfill their duty and have their own specialties. Some may work more with magick while others may be more capable with swords or a bow. There are all kinds and personalities, with their capabilities sometimes leaking into creativity, magick, passion, abundance, restoration, or retribution. Their duty will always have priority, but when they are available, they make for excellent and knowledgeable friends who seek to bring greater enrichment to their human’s life.

Naturally, having a Nephthys’ Guardian of the Duat will improve your connection to Nephthys. Working with Nepthys is not necessary to bond with your Guardian successfully, but if Nephthys takes a liking to you, she may initiate contact.
