This Hephaestus’ Automated Defense System is programmed to use Dragon Ice as its primary element. Dragon Ice is a uniquely draconic element with rich primal power. A culture from a distant Dragonic Realm reveres it as a sacred force of creation. Because this ADS uses Dragon Ice most, Dragon Ice has shaped its appearance. Each unit of this ADS appears as a sphere with blue-white scales and an icy iridescence. It has a lens on its front face that is white with a two or three ridges of small spines radiating out of it. Given this ADS’ element, it can be chilly physically whenever it is present, doubly so whenever it is activated in the presence of a threat. If it is inert for long periods, you might view ice growing off the units, starting with a thin layer of rime and then expanding outward into fern-like crystals. When in motion, this ice is converted into power that fills the area around it as a frosty mist that cleanses, clears, and in some cases, heals.
When a threat is present, this ADS turns its entire environment into a weapon. The various icy energies it uses to cleanse become a foundational energy in its environment and these energies can be activated, turning into jagged spires of piercing ice. Its icy powers can also cause a home to become a maze, warping the spiritual dimensions so a threat is not only unable to find its way to whatever it wants to attack, it also prevents it from immediately leaving. The ADS will use this environmental manipulation to lead a threat far away from its defended property, sort of containing the threat in a pocket dimension filled with twisting hallways of ice that defy physical logic. This allows the threat to be assaulted for the duration, giving it the worst time and ensuring it does not return. When it comes to direct confrontations, this ADS can freeze a target with a spray of icy mist, literally encasing them in an icy energy that is able to infiltrate depths of their being. It then fragments them, shattering and splintering their energy. While most beings subjected to this can reform over time, this fragmentation affects them far beyond their form, cracking them to a depth in their psyche. They will still reform, but now they have an additional mental maze to navigate as they piece back together their mind and memories, severely increasing time of recovery. It takes a truly durable being to go unscathed with a confrontation of this ADS. Additional abilities may manifest.
Because of the nature of this ADS’ power, it does not leave the home. It takes time for them to develop the environment for them to utilize it at maximum effectiveness. After each instance of an assault, some of the icy energies it has worked within the environment are consumed. In instances of a ridiculously powerful threat, all energies may be consumed but they will accumulate more in a short time. If a new threat infiltrates during a period of accumulation, it is up to other protective companions, including other ADS units, to be active. However, once enough of its energies are interwoven with the foundational energies of the home, it can begin acting once again.
This ADS is associated with greater mental clarity, aids with greater discernment, and helps with matters related to self-reflection and personal cultivation. It also helps build stronger companion connections.
Upon bonding with this ADS set, you will grow closer to Dragon Ice, and will find a doorway opening to its energies. It can become a powerful influence in your life and through the ADS, you can begin to master its powers, as the ADS will always serve as a powerful conduit for Dragon Ice’s power. Bonding with the ADS may also give it unique abilities directly related to Dragon Ice.
The Automated Defense System is, as the name implies, an Immortal Artifact dedicated to defense. They are capable of making formations and projecting their preferred energy in response to threats. These formations are both offensive and defensive. Offensive formations include, but aren’t limited to, formations that allow them to created a singular focused blast, use a scattered fire blast, a rapid fire blast, create an energy projected sword, create an energy projected bow and arrow, and even can become mines. Defensive forms include, but aren’t limited to, formations that allow the creation of a barrier wall, creation of a bubble barrier, and caging and depositing a threat somewhere else. In the face of an overwhelming threat, they will ordinarily form a bubble barrier around the most vulnerable being to protect them.
The Automated Defense System can be willed into whatever formation you like. Think of them as an extension of yourself and use them in this way to align your energy with them and create a better resonance with them. This bonding will allow you and your ADS to become more in tune. You may also meditate while focusing on them to bond as well.
Additional ADS will strengthen each other as they will both layer and combine their preferred/* energy types. When these types are combined, they can have incredible effects and allows the ADS to provide an even more effective defense.
