Adonis’ Aponea (Ah-pawn-neh-ah) are created beings with a focus on elemental magick and a predominant affinity for a single element. They are as intelligent as they are beautiful and have strong connections to natural forces and the manifestation of desire. Due to this alignment, they have ties to abundance, beauty, harmony, and evolution, as these things are tied strongly to the cycles of nature. The element an individual Aponea may have an affinity for is ordinarily classical but can be nontraditional or environmental. This is essentially the difference between an affinity for fire or water versus an affinity for forests, deserts, mountains, or rivers. So long as it is tied to nature, its expression, or a cycle, an Aponea can have an affinity to it. They have a vast range they can utilize within this element and shall use it to aid their human companion and fellow companions in what ways are most beneficial. They of course also offer mentorship and insight into building a greater connection with their chosen element.
The Aponea have delightful and wise personalities, often displaying qualities of high intelligence like being planners, carefully articulate, or thoughtful in their mannerisms. They have a certain penchant for conciseness and not wasting time or effort. They also hold a unique fascination for their human and their fellow companions, some even seeking to study and observe them. However, the degrees to which these traits are present differs per individual Aponea. Some strongly display them, especially those having ties to Air, but not all are as obvious about it. Aside from these commonalities, they are all individuals with their own preferences and interests. Although they have a wealth of magick at their fingertips, no two Aponea work their magick in the exactly the same way, even if they share an elemental affinity. Of course, as beings connected to Adonis, you can also expect some Aponea to be amorous, but this is not always true. They are humanesque in appearance and have traits that reflect their elemental affinity, such as burning irises or wings. They are Dark Art entities usually at the middle of the spectrum but can pop up anywhere.
As created beings, Aponea can be shaped according to preferences, but know that Adonis places necessities first. So if there is something you may not have specified but he finds it necessary, he will implement it, even if it means overriding something you desired. An Aponea can be inspired by the likeness of another but know that the Aponea is not an extension of them and is their own person.
Naturally, having an Adonis’ Aponea in your keep will improve your connection to Adonis. Working with Adonis is not necessary to bond with your Adonis’ Aponea successfully, but if Adonis takes a liking to you, he may initiate contact.
