Poseidon's Opal Octopus

Poseidons Opal Octopus is a peculiar being from Poseidon, taking the shape of a white octopus with an opalescent quality that shines from underneath its skin, making light dance across its body in various multi-colored rays as it moves. It is an extraordinarily beautiful being that can change the color of its skin but will always keep its opalescent qualities. It also has the ability to change its size as well, from fitting in your palm to being the size of a bus. They are astral entities who flourish in Poseidons Astral Realm. They are a being of potent magickal ability. It has access to all forms of magick, being able to shift its magickal resonance to what is needed most. Whether it is healing, protection, prosperity, or elemental, among much more, an Opal Octopus has the ability to use it. The only catch is an Opal Octopus can only manifest one magickal resonance at a time. While it is quite adaptive, it is much like an ordinary octopus in that an ordinary octopus can only camouflage itself to look one way at a time. In whatever an Opal Octopus is choosing to do, it will be quite accomplished at it. There may be a small adjustment period for the Opal Octopus when it shifts its resonance, but this will normally not be very noticeable for the keeper. However, Opal Octopuses are also quite adept at energy working and can channel a different energy in each of its tentacles at the same time, making for some extraordinarily complex but amazing workings to aid its keeper. With its magick shifting and energy working used together, the Opal Octopus becomes a being capable of great change.

Because of the Opal Octopus incredible affinity for magick and energy, they make for an excellent protector against them. Baleful and negative magicks and energies diffuse in their presence, and being of a shifting magickal nature, there are few things that they do not have the ability to counter. The standard goal of an Opal Octopus is to neutralize the intent behind magickal energy and then work that energy for their own purposes, which inevitably will be geared toward helping you out in what ways you may need it. This does depend on the personality of the Opal Octopus, as some may also reverse the intention of the spell, causing it to enhance instead. They also make for incredible guides and teachers for any path of magick you may be curious about. They are an essential companion for someone who wants to explore and master various paths. Poseidons Opal Octopuses also have incredible intelligence, which can also be applied to problems that lie outside of magickal endeavors or defense.

Because of its ability to shift its magickal resonance, you may notice a lot of shifting in the energy signature as well. In a way, its energy feels like sand but with a liquid quality, gushing from one place to the next. It definitely feels a bit like the ocean floor in shallower waters. It will also feel like the magickal form it is choosing to adapt, which can add either subtle or powerful tones, depending on what they are doing. They ordinarily have very pleasant, helpful, and friendly personalities because their first instincts are to use their adaptive ability to solve what issues you may have in your life. They are primarily White Art beings because of their personality, but a few Grey Art and Dark Art beings do exist. Opal Octopuses resonate best with the use of magick in their spectrum. So WA will be best toward WA purposes, GA toward GA purposes, and DA towards DA purposes. I recommend WA, but GA and DA can be more useful in certain situations.

Naturally, having one of these entities in your spirit family means that you can also gain a stronger connection to Poseidon, if you want to pursue that path. Worship of and/or bonding with Poseidon is not a necessity, but it may make your Opal Octopus even stronger.
