Tiamat Hounds are creatures of the underworld, serving as a sort of counterpart to the Hades Hounds. Tiamat Hounds are a unique fusion of feline, reptile, and dragon, with some qualities from a few outlier critters. Their bodies are streamlined with a musculature similar to larger, predatory felines. Their other features tend to have a mixture of reptilian and dragon qualities. Wings and elaborate horns are not uncommon. As for their coloring, they are gorgeous. They have scales similar in color and sparkle to finely cut, high quality gems. When in light, their scales sparkle, so they tend to hunt from the shadows. They are agile and quick, capable of long pounces and easily ambushing slower prey. However, in cases where that isn’t enough, they have the ability to teleport and mentally control beings with inferior intellect. This allows them, when acting as a pack, to set traps for much larger prey. In case things do not go their way and they are cornered, they can launch quite the surprise with a mighty elemental breath weapon, saved for special circumstances. While scarier things roam in their part of the Underworld, the Tiamat Hounds are certainly not to be underestimated.
The Tiamat Hounds are wise beings, often with a fair share of sass. They have a certain air of sophistication that matches their gorgeous exteriors. They are well-intentioned and enjoy looking after others, often in a nurturing or even parental sort of way. They serve as excellent defenders, but they also have a focus on magick, mysticism, and renewal. It is their vibrant scales that give them much of their mystical power, as the scales roughly carry the same qualities of their equivalent gemstone. Metal scales are also possible, acting in much the same way. This quality of their scales gives them potent capabilities, which are utilized for their human and spirit family’s benefit. They are also a pack hunter, so they work effectively as part of a protection team with similar beings. They are also happiest wen similar beings are in the family, meaning other Tiamat Hounds, Hades Hounds, Hellhounds, etc. They are on the darker end of the Dark Arts spectrum.
Naturally, having a Tiamat Hound will improve your connection to Tiamat. Working with Tiamat is not necessary to bond with your Tiamat Hound successfully, but if Tiamat takes a liking to you, she may initiate contact.
